Serves as a Technical Writer-Editor and CH-47 Subject Matter Expert to apply principles of life cycle cradle to grave management, and as components expert, considers equipment, geographic/climate conditions, planning and implementation of comprehensive DOD component logistics programs to include integration with environmental and safety requirements. Evaluate, plan, develop and insure the implementation of changes to maintenance and troubleshooting collective actions, based on new system requirements. Facilitate teamwork level cooperation that includes working in concert with other technical personnel, specialists, and contractor representatives with responsibility for the development and implementation of Army Technical Manuals (TM), Electronic TM (ETM), and Interactive ETM (IETM) programs based on MIL-STD-40051-1 and MIL-PRF-63029.
Provide guidance on the efforts of CH-47 program development with DOD activities, contractors, and Army entities charged with TM and logistics data acquisition to ensure the overall program’s conformance to and compatibility with DOD, HQDA, PEOAVN and HQAMC policy and guidance. Investigates new industry/DOD developments in digitized data (text and graphics) production and delivery methods for ETMs and IETMs. Determines which new technologies and methodologies will best support Army needs and makes recommendations for their adoption. Analyzes program goals and constraints to recommend or develop procedures and approaches which will allow for the conversion of technical publications from paper to electronic media or for direct development of digital publications.
Develops or provides guidance on methods for converting traditional publications into digitally supported publications utilizing governmental XML tagging structure. Advise and provide assistance to various elements of the CH-47 Cargo PMO, DA components, and fully engage in the fielding of the improved and enhanced components for the CH47 Army aircraft. Coordinate with representatives from CCAD, CECOM, ALC, and other organizations concerning customer requirements, and concerns over sensitive and/or complex issues that impact or may have potential impact on War Fighter requirements.
Accredited BS degree in Acquisition, Logistics, Business, Management or related field. Must have a minimum of 8 years of CH-47 task related experience. *Three additional years of task related experience (a total of eleven years) may be used in lieu of a bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university. Must be able to perform detailed information search, correlation, interpretation of technical data and the preparation of technical documents. Technical knowledge of maintenance techniques, procedures, and directives associated with Army Aviation Maintenance is highly desired.
